Overall, the general property rate will increase by 2 per cent, representing an $8.7 million total rate revenue. The rate increase is identical to the one delivered in the 2021-22 council budget.
The minimum rate per property will also increase, from $560 to $580.
Capital works include multiple road construction projects, including $680,000 for shoulder and seal widening works on Cannawigara Road, $110,000 for Bunker Road in Keith, and $189,000 for Weir Drive and Jenkin Road.
Other projects include a $217,698 upgrade for the change rooms and storage facilities at Keith Institute, $50,000 for disability changerooms at Bordertown pool and $20,000 for fencing at Keith pool.
Due to rising input costs associated with waste collection, the draft budget also proposed an increase in the municipal waste service charge from $340 to $379.
The council have put a call out for feedback on the draft budget - hard copies of which can be found at council offices in Bordertown and Keith, the Padthaway General Store and the Bordertown Library.
- Details: Public feedback will be open until Tuesday, June 14 and can be made to individual councillors, by phone on 87 52 1044, and via email on office@tatiara.sa.gov.au.
