Keith Gold travelled to Mundulla for division one pennants on Saturday, but a three-rink win for the hosts extinguished any chance of Gold making the finals.
The best rink for Keith was that of Hams, Wales, Sowman and M. Hilton, with a deficit of just three shots.
Their opponents - Braybrook, Mead, Ciampa and Graetz - had the upper hand with a lead of 20-4 at the break, but Keith won eight of the remaining 11 ends in a great comeback.
Other rinks' scores were A. Kotz losing 22-35 to J. Brown, and G Lock's 32 defeating J. Kotz' 18.
The final result was Mundulla 23 to Keith's 20.
Elsewhere, Keith Green hosted Bordertown Red and managed to win two rinks to give them 10 valuable points on the ladder.
The best rink was that of Towill, Hartman, Cox and Oldfield with a 34 to 13 win over the rink of Meunster, Paech, Steer and Milne.
The first half of the game was fairly even, with the narrowest of leads to Keith after the 14th end, but that is where the momentum finished for Bordertown.
Green slowly built on their lead and picked up a six on the 21st end that helped to consolidate a good win.
The other rinks saw K. Schreiber down Jaensch 30-25, while D. Stopp went down to Wiese 20-24.
The Greens have kept their chances of playing in the finals with only two minor round games remaining.
