Fleurieu Milk Company, based at Myponga, supports local farming families on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

The successful company has continued its growth by now having its milk stocked in Woolworths' fridges across the state.

The introduction of South Australian favourite Fleurieu Milk to 34 Woolworths supermarkets in South Australia is not only a win for customers looking for premium local dairy, but has resulted in Fleurieu Milk looking to expand its operations to support more local dairy farmers.

The stores include Victor Harbor, Goolwa, Strathalbyn and Murray Bridge, offering customers a premium South Australian-owned milk, which supports dairy farmers in the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Fleurieu Milk sources its fresh milk from a number of local dairy farming families in Myponga, some of whom have been dairying on the same land for generations dating back to the 1920s.

The company is owned by three of the families who produce milk for the label and is about to enter its 15th year of operation, at a time when many producers who rely on the hospitality industry have faced some serious challenges.

Far from needing to scale down its productions, Fleurieu Milk is now looking towards the future with plans to expand its operations and begin sourcing from more local dairy farmers following the additional demand and certainty its new partnership with Woolworths has offered.

Fleurieu Milk Company Managing Director Nick Hutchinson said the company prided itself on the consistent rich flavour and creamy texture of its milk, owed to the lush green pastures of Rye and Clover grass its Friesian and Jersey cows graze on.

"We're proud to launch our products in selected Woolworths stores around South Australia," Mr Hutchinson said.

"To be in a position where we are now looking at opportunities to expand our business, bring more local farmers onboard and create jobs, is a long way from the uncertainty we faced only two months ago. It's very exciting.

"The support we've received from South Australian consumers is overwhelming. South Aussies love supporting South Aussies, so to now have our products available in another 34 locations is a great win for the local economy."

Woolworths Dairy Category Manager, Bridget Gliniany said South Australians loved to back a local.

"So do we. It's why we're so pleased to not only offer customers a great premium dairy product, but also help support South Australian dairy families," Ms Gliniany said.

"We take great pride in offering a wide range of choice in our dairy cabinet and want to make it easier for our customers to choose a local favourite during their regular grocery shop."

Select Woolworths supermarkets will stock Fleurieu's pure milk range including full fat, low fat and unhomogenised varieties, as well as its popular range of flavoured ice coffee and chocolate milks.

Fleurieu Milk products are now stocked in approximately 50 per cent of Woolworths stores across SA.

As Fleurieu continues to grow, Woolworths hopes to expand its dairy products into more South Australian stores in the future.
