The Tatiara is full of individuals who go under the radar and make massive contributions to the 'Good Country'.

However, there is now a chance for the region's hard workers and young leaders to recognised, with Australia Day award nominations now open for residents.

Next year's Australia Day celebrations will be held at Don Moseley Park, Keith on January 26 and nominations are currently being called for three award categories.

Residents will be able nominate for 'Citizen of the Year', 'Young Citizen of the Year' (aged under 30 years on 26/1/2020) and 'Community Event of the Year'.

The aim of the awards is to recognise outstanding contributions to the local communities within the past year or over an extended period.

Nomination forms can be obtained from either the Bordertown or Keith council offices or by visiting the council website and clicking on the form located at the bottom of the page.

Residents can also submit their nominations directly at http://www.citizenoftheyear.com.au/.

It is to be noted that awards are for individuals only and nominations for couples will not be considered.

If a couple are deemed worthy of nominating, please nominate them separately. Nominations must be accompanied by suitable details to assist the judging panel.

Nominations officially close on Friday, November 15.
