Naracoorte and surrounds is a thriving agricultural centre of the South East of South Australia.
Located in the heart of the Limestone Coast, it is home to world heritage-listed fossil site Bool Lagoon and wetlands, museums, galleries, playgrounds and parks, a unique swimming lake and a variety of shops and accommodation properties.
The upper South East also is a productive, versatile, agricultural region with reliable rainfall and vast underground water resources, producing quality wool, beef cattle, wheat and barley.
It is a major exporter of lucerne seed.
Padthaway and surrounding districts are also enjoying an increase in viticulture production.
Towards the coast are Kingston, Robe and Coorong districts.
The ports of Kingston and Robe are home to a vital rock lobster and fishing industry; the Coorong is famous for its mullet.
This pristine coastal region has an expanding wine-producing, aquaculture, sheep and cattle grazing and timber industries. The beaches, fishing grounds, national parks and coastal reserves make it a popular tourist destination.
