Rural fiction author Wendy Altschwager will launch her latest book Behind the Door at the Tatiara Civic Centre on Wednesday, June 5.
The Adelaide Hills author has written plenty of rural fiction novels over her career, many of them inspired by real life situations from her time as a farmer's wife, and featuring her punchy and humorous style of writing.
Wendy's latest novel, Behind the Door, is highly anticipated and tells the story about two people moving into an old ancestral home, with aspirations to return the rundown house to its former glory. They think all is well, until both stumble across a shocking truth hidden behind one of the doors.
Like many of Wendy's novels, she loves to encapsulate the stereotypical Australian country life and the personalities that come along with that.
"I love capturing country life and the real Australian larrikin, a breed and culture I feel will eventually become lost," Wendy said.
Attendees who attend the book launch at 11.30am will be treated to a light lunch and will have the opportunity to meet Wendy.
