Coonalypn police have arrested two men following a petrol drive off in Keith.
Just after 11.30am, Monday May 13, patrols stopped a car on the Dukes Highway about 8km south of Coonalpyn. It will be alleged the vehicle had been involved in the theft of petrol from Keith earlier in the morning.
Checks revealed the driver of the car, a 28-year-old man of no fixed address was suspended from driving and the registration plates on the car had been altered. The car was also unregistered.
The man was arrested and charged for those offences he also resisted during his arrested.
The passenger in the car a 23-year-old man also of no fixed address was charged with theft (making off without payment).
Both men were refused police bail and were to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
