KNTNA netball games produce big margins

The three KNTNA A grade netball matches played on Saturday were all won by decisive margins.

Padthaway v Kybybolite. Perfect netball conditions provided both teams with the confidence to come out firing. It was Kyby's first game for the season after sitting out round 1 with the bye.

It was a very fast paced and physical game. The first quarter saw both teams work out some nervous energy, with Padthaway ending up one goal ahead at the first break.

Kybybolite fought back hard in the second quarter and played some controlled netball to be six up at half time.

Padthaway made some changes at the break and fought hard to still only be six goals down at three quarter time.

The last quarter saw Kybybolite extend their lead, but not without some hard fought play by Padthaway.

Both teams worked hard all game and battled for every inch.

Bordertown v Mundulla. Bordertown hosted Mundulla on Friday night for a twilight game.

Bordertown started the game strongly with very few turnovers which gave them the lead at quarter time. Both teams played well defensively with great pressure all over the court and displayed great attacking skills.

Bordertown increased their lead during the second quarter and were up by 15 goals at half time. The third quarter saw the same level of great netball. Bordertown put lots of pressure in defence in Mundulla all through the third quarter and Bordertown lead by 20 goals at three quarter time.

It was nearly goal for goal in the last quarter with a fantastic display of shooting skills by both teams.

Both teams played well but Bordertown was too strong and took the win.

Lucindale v K/L United. Lucindale bounced out of the blocks with an 18 to 8 first quarter.

Excellent defensive pressure was applied by Lucindale all the way down the court with many turnovers produced.

KLU made changes for the third quarter coming out strong but Lucindale were too strong all over the court to win 55 to 28.

Naracoorte v Border Districts. Naracoorte won 59-47. No report was provided.

Penola and Keith had byes.

All teams will have a break this weekend forĀ Easter.

Round 3 matches will be a split round with Kybybolite hosting Naracoorte on ANZAC Day.

On Saturday April 27, Borders will host Bordertown at Goroke, Mundulla hosts Lucindale, Penola hosts Keith and KLU and Padthaway both have byes.

The premiership table after two rounds sees Bordertown and Naracoorte out in front with two wins each. Penola and Kyby both have one win from one game, while reigning premiers Lucindale and Padthaway are both 1-1.
