Walter Milne has been rewarded for his lengthy contribution to the Bordertown and District Probus Club, receiving life membership at the club meeting on April 8.
Walter first joined the club in 2003, while he was still a member of the Bordertown Rotary Club.
Fast-forward 16 years and "Wally" has been officially recognised for his contributions to the Probus club.
Secretary Bob Daniels praised the efforts of Walter, describing his service to the club as "considerable".
The award ceremony was conducted by retiring president Harvey Lovelock, and like many others, had nothing but praise for "Wally".
After the award ceremony concluded, members were given an insight into the industrial hemp industry by Michael Anderson from Good Country Hemp.
Michael provides support to growers to have the industry established in South Australia.
Club members thanked Michael for his interesting insight into industrial hemp industry.
President Harvey thanked all the club members who attended last week's meeting and hopes to see another good turnout for the next meeting.
