Keith Diesel and Dirt Derby all set for 2019!

It’s loud, it’s fast and yes, it’s dirty, but we love it!

The annual Keith Diesel and Dirt Derby, that has famously put Keith on the map across the world, is on again and all set for March 23.

Last year, over 11,500 people came from all parts of Australia and New Zealand to see the action-packed program which will again feature amazingly fast V8 Jet Boats, the mighty muscle of the Down Under Modified Tractor pulls, and all sorts of other racing vehicles and displays.

One of the great things about the derby is the fact that we are not just putting on a show, but there are so many parts of it that people can participate in

Event organiser Glen Simpson said not only does the event provide guests with a plethora of visual and sensory eye candy, but it also enables and encourages community involvement.

“One of the great things about the derby is the fact that we are not just putting on a show, but there are so many parts of it that people can participate in," Mr Simpson said.

"Where else can you have a go at the spud races, show off your ute or classic car or bash up an old header in the header demolition derby?

"Speaking of which, we’ve just had confirmation that the Member for Barker, Tony Pasin has again entered his header. Plus, there’s a pavilion that’s mum and kid friendly, loads of food and plenty of liquid refreshments. Many people have told me that there is so much on, they didn’t get to see it all, so come early is my advice.”

The team of local event organisers are busy finalising the event which will again have an aerobatic display by renowned pilot, Chris Sperou and a favourite with city patrons, the shearing demonstration.

Gates will open at 7.30am with the action starting at 8.30am on the jet boat track as the V8s start practice laps.

The Keith Moto X club kick off the dust churning action at 9am.

Tractor pulls start at 10 and then it’s non-stop all around the main arena and other tracks until the highlight for many people, the Centurion tank demo and header demo derby from 5pm.

Live music will be provided.
