The Keith Art Group has a had a busy couple of months with visiting tutors, instructing and encouraging us to try a variety of mediums and styles.
In April Richard Rogers travelled to Keith from Strathalbyn, to take 2 days to work with us in acrylics. Richard chose an animal theme and demonstrated how to paint a cow on day one and then, using the same canvas painted a lion on the second day! From this session so many creative and original styles developed and the end result produced a wide variety of animals with no 2 the same!
Our next tutor was local Willalooka artist, Di Holland whose specialty is watercolours. The group participated in a fun workshop using the flow of the paint and water mixed with salt to create some fantastic effects.
June saw Bordertown local identity Naomi Fallon share how she creates her fashion faces, with emphasis on the eyes. Lots of black ink and detailing around the faces and simple lines to suggest form of body shape.
Two weeks later Glen Irvine travel up from Victor Harbour to give us a lesson in oil painting, impressionist style! The group created some vibrant and eye catching works.
All this variety in classes and styles, is leading up to some great entries in the Keith and Tintinara Show in October and hopefully to a very well supported exhibition in early November!
