Mundulla Primary School student wins award

Mundulla Primary School student Sarah Andersen has been named a winner of a Makers Empire design competition.

Each month Makers Empire conduct a design competition for school students all over the world. In August the task was to create a character cookie cutter on the Makers Empire software program.

Sarah was one of the winners of last month’s competition with her Minnie Mouse Cookie Cutter. She was awarded the prize from 300 design entries from across the globe.

Sarah is in Year 6 at Mundulla Primary School and has excelled in the art of 3D printing thanks to Makers Empire.

Now that the school has its 3D printer up and running, staff were able to print it for her as well.

Sarah received a trophy for her efforts as well as some note paper and a hacky sack.

The competition is free to enter for all school children around the World. This month’s competition is to create a bookmark with the theme of ‘Escape to Everywhere’.
