The Variety V2 Motorcycle Run will be riding through Keith later this month to raise money for children in need.
The group will be travelling through Keith on Sunday October 22, stopping for morning tea at Keith Park around 10am.
The Keith community are no strangers to Variety after they hosted a leg of the South Australian Variety Bash earlier this year in support of the charity.
The Motorcycle Run will be celebrating their 10th anniversary as 61 entrants, 29 bikes, six support vehicles, a coach and a helicopter ride off to experience the best the South East of South Australia has to offer.
The event has raised more than $1.7 million to help children in need over its ten-year history and this year will hope to bring another $150,000 to boost that tally.
The event first began in 2006, when Anthony Toop from Toop & Toop Real Estate, who has a passion for motorbikes as well as Variety, had a vision to organise a motorcycle event to fundraise for children in need.
This resulted in Anthony pulling together a few of his friends who created the founding committee and the vision for the V2 Motorcycle Run became a reality.
The V2 Motorcycle Run is an ‘up-market’ event designed to attract motorcycle enthusiasts who enjoy firing up their bikes for a four-day luxury cruise, requiring no organisation on their part.
The emphasis is on interesting roads, fabulous scenery, great food and wine and of course, fun and entertainment.
With a helicopter offering riders a change of view and a bus for those who don’t wish to ride, this event caters for all.
“I am honoured to chair the tenth anniversary Variety V2 Motorcycle Run,’’ says Andrew Marshall, Chair of the event and Director of SA Care.
‘’We look forward to some fantastic weather, great camaraderie and raising much needed funds for children in need,’’ he said.
