The Bordertown “keep fit” group celebrated their 39th birthday on Tuesday with an afternoon of fun at the Tatiara Retirement Village.
The group of around 20 ladies meet once a week on a Tuesday in the hall at the retirement village for a light afternoon of exercise to keep them fit and healthy.
The group is run by five instructors who take it in turns to run a session each week with the rest of the group.
Deidre Phelps and Dawn Beck are two of the instructors who have been with the group from the very start.
The pair say they have stayed around the whole time because they like the weekly encounters with the group and they thoroughly enjoy the fitness aspect.
The sessions involve a wide variety of sitting and walking exercises, all in the name of keeping the group active and healthy.
With three of the five instructors missing from the birthday celebrations, the group decided to have a week off from exercise and enjoyed their time with a movie and cake to celebrate the milestone.
