Australian Capital Tourism has notified its '500 humans' who have won free holidays to the capital as part of an online tourism campaign.
The $1 million "human brochure" campaign attracted significant interest after it was launched in August, with more than 31,000 people from around Australia entering to win a weekend in Canberra.
The 500 winners were informed yesterday by email, creating a buzz online.
The campaign sought entries from people who were active on social media, and asked that the winners use Twitter, Facebook and other platforms to share their experiences in the nation's capital.
Australian Capital Tourism's Director Ian Hill said he was delighted with the number of people who entered.
"Inviting people to come along and experience some of the many great things there are to see and do in their capital and then share their experience through their social media networks is a great way of building greater advocacy," he said.
The majority of applicants, 68 per cent, were women, and most were aged between 25 and 44.
For those who missed out, there is some hope - a second round of holidays may be offered if any of the 500 winners are unable to attend the weekend visits.
