BORDERTOWN High School officially opened its new Language Centre and invited Governing Council Chairperson, Andrew Campbell to cut the ribbon in Senator Chris Evan’s absence.
The official opening of the Language Centre was held on a windy, yet perfect November 18 morning after the long building process.
Mr O’Connell and Andrew Campbell spoke briefly before the opening of the centre, and what its use would go towards.
The building will be used mainly for language lessons, namely French and English as a second language (ESL) for students from overseas, although other classes may also use the space.
High School Principal Mick O’Connell said the project involved four site managers during the construction tenure and a lot of hours of negotiation.
Due to Senator Chris Evans not being able to make the event, Mr O’Connell read a congratulatory letter from Senator Chris Evans Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills, Jobs and Workplace Relations.
