Launch, a close-knit success

30 Nov, 2011 09:45 AM
THE resplendent launch of Vida Maney’s new book “Granny’s Snake Yarns” was a family affair, drawing over 50 attendants, with many being family from Australia and overseas.

The November 20 launch sighted countless smiles from the exorbitant amount of family and guests present at the events location of the Mundulla Hotel.

Vida’s sisters Rosemary Williams of Robe and Kathleen White of Kingston were some of the close-knit guests, who spoke along with Vida, who wrote the book from letters left by her mother and Vida’s recollections.

Family came from all over, including Fiji, Alice Springs, Wagga, Hamilton and far and near.

Tatiara local Jill Milne was the first speaker, who took the liberty of introducing the afternoon.

Jill spoke about the time and effort Vida went to writing the book.

People present on the day were described by Jill as being there because they were book lovers, “we have all fallen under the spell of Vida’s words.”
