The weekly Border Chronicle was first published in 1908 and was owned by Leslie Samuel Duncan in premises at the rear of Bordertown's first Institute building in
Woolshed Street. After various owners, the Chronicle was bought in 1950 by Roy Poulton and Ross Warne. Mr Poulton bought Mr Warne's share in 1963.
Roy Poulton and his wife Joy operated the Chronicle; and their sons Lindsay and Neil also joined the family company. Roy died in 1977 and Lindsay in 1996. Neil and his wife Christine operated the business until they sold it in October 2005 to Richard Peake and his wife Judith Barton, trading as Border Chronicle Pty Ltd. Neil and Christine's daughter Tracey Poulton is the manager; and Ro Ross is the editor.
